I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Iowa. Before joining Iowa, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Connecticut, where I worked with Song Han. I received my Ph.D. from Northeastern University, China, and was supervised by X. Sharon Hu during my visit to the University of Notre Dame.
My research centers on real-time cyber-physical systems with stringent timing and reliability requirements. Application domains include industrial internet-of-things (IIoT), autonomous systems, avionics, etc. My current work investigates resource management, scheduling, and system design/analysis/implementation for emerging industrial networking systems, including industrial 5G/6G, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), and wireless sensor-actuator networks (WSANs). My long term research goal is to make real-time cyber-physical systems more deterministic, reliable, and secure.
Our group is looking for motivated M.S. and Ph.D. students, as well as research interns, to work on real-time cyber-physical systems. Please see the Openings page for details.
